Accounting Jobs--still plentiful

Accounting Jobs are still plentiful, whether it's SoX work, tax, accounting or audit work; the only problem is that want u don't see the right qualified candidates that firms are seeking all the time. It's problem that doesn't have to be a problem,,,,,,I practice and I recruit also, so I'm all about the skill set and let's face it most accountants can do the work with some training and direction.

However; most firms really don't want to make that kind of investment in their people to bring them up to speed, but they have no problem wanting to work them into the ground. Hence you have part of this dilemma,,,,,practicing accountants that would rather do something else rather than return to public accounting or work for a corporate entity. To compound I've seen far too many firm/entities that seemingly are openly discriminating against accounting professionals based on both age and race. Again this is based on the number of outplacement candidates and unemployed 40+ accountants (CPAs/CMAs etc....) that cannot even get an interview.

So, in short as a praciticing professional it's about the skill set, not when your degree was conferred. I'm always looking for good talent.

The Blog revisited.......again

Seems like old times, I finally get a chance to make an entry and forget the process. So much for documenting what I should and shouldn't do in order to update my blog entry, promote my firm and get a gauge of the audience that received this information.

So, again hello and welcome!
